Glitter, Cheetah And Polka Dots

22 Jan

Hi friends!

This weekend I was doing a bit of research online, magazines, and bit of window shopping for inspiration for new designs. Trust me, you will go bananas, I was inspired by classic pieces your used to seeing: Cow hide; abalone, and stones, but just like we said before, we love to keep our style classic but giving it a little unexpectedness and asymmetry is what makes us over the top ecstatic. Stay tuned!

Happy Monday beauties!

I had a fun relaxing and productive weekend. Did the usual house chores that I have neglected for sometime as well as designing some new jewels whoo hoo!! 30 new pieces and counting. Did we tell you, we will be exhibiting our line in two weeks? What I’m looking forward to is the cocktail and hor dourve hour while the exclusive members shop the show! Wish us luck friends! On another note, I think I finally found a car, but since I never had a car payment before I’m a little hesitant. My honey and I had our date night on Saturday in which we ventured off to Koreatown for some yummy Korean BBQ. Talk about a Feast!! Rain boots

15 Nov

Hello Friends!

A few days ago it began to rain here in L.A. and I was so excited because that meant I can wear my rain boots. In the past I had trouble figuring out what to wear them with until I came up with these few tips. Hopefully I inspire you. Take a peek!

Skinny Jeans

Just like the little black dress in every girls closet, skinny jeans are a must too! I like to pair my boots with skinnies, a over-sized sweater, tunic or a billowy blouse depending how cold it is. A light jean jacket a scarf and Viola!

Skirts & Dresses

Yes I know, imagining wearing rain boots and fun dresses may not be on the top of your but if balanced correctly can be a match made in heaven. The key is to balance the two extremes polished and relaxed and not to much of one.

Shorts

When having a casual piece I immediately gravitate toward more of a sophisticated feel with a collard shirt, simple dainty accessories, avoiding patterns or keeping the color palette in neutral colors

Leggings

Let’s face it! We all love leggings because they scream cozy! Not to mention I love how I can hide five pounds or so. To complete the look, pair with a collard long sleeve, over-sized cardigan and scarf.

Or take a peek at photos I picked for some inspiration.

Enjoy!

These are my next victim!!

From Summer To Fall

24 Sep

Happy Monday friends!

This past weekend I cleaned until I could no more I like to call it Cinderella. One project I’m working on is my closet. I am organizing it and I’m nowhere near done! I should have taken before and after photos, I cannot wait until I am done. I will feel better. I took a quick scan and pulled out all of my summer clothes that I will be wearing throughout winter, got to love the chambray, my over-sized purse and the bright shoes that can smoothly transition into winter!  What will you be wearing into winter?

Michael Kors: shoes| No brand: leggins| White long sleeve: Splendid| Zara: Chambray|Purse: Nordstrom

Oh yes! I cut my bangs too, I’ve had bangs for years! Until my hairstylist about killed me to grow them out. I have a round face so I’m always a fan of the side swept bangs. But today I was playing with different looks. I need a new look which will make fall that much more exciting.

Snake Skin and Cut Offs

I’ll be living in these shorts all summer, I’ve been wearing them with everything from a casual relaxed to a polished look. I’m someone who shops everywhere! If I like it, I’m getting it and this means anywhere from Neiman Marcus to good old JC Penny’s!!!! Whao!! I haven’t heard of that store in years. The other day I was off to the good ol Nordstrom half-yearly sale and I knew it would be impossible to get parking near by, so I parked by JC Penny’s and in I went through the doors rushing and storming my way in. Guess what I found at Penny?? This amazing snake blazer for $34.oo !! Can you believe it!! Well, perhaps you’re not as excited or animated as I am, but I love it!! You’ll be seeing me wear this transitional piece from summer to winter! Now I can add JC Penny’s to my list! Take a peek.! I say it’s a yes! hurry! go get one!

Happy Hump day!

By the way, I just opened my mail and I got a free $25.00 gift card for Ann Taylor!!!!!!!!! Another one to add to my list, Ann Taylor has come a long way, you should check it out! If Banana Republic and J.Crew had a baby it would be Ann Taylor, you follow me….

Husband’s Birthday Weekend

20 Apr

Who would have known my birthday and my husband’s birthday would be in the same month? As mentioned in my previous post, my husband and I have rekindled our love for nature so we opted for a lovely day at the L.A.  Arboretum in Arcadia. My husband and I became members of this soothing place years ago, and we missed it so much we had to reinstate our memberships. But wait! We didn’t just go for a walk in the garden. I made it extra special and packed us a gourmet picnic! Mother bought me this adorable, practical picnic basket that I have used on numerous occasions. It’s been sitting dormant for months now, so you can imagine how excited I was to re-introduce it to some sunlight!!

All ready for Monday fun day! Allllll aboard, Pinot Grigio, Farmers Market Hazel nuts, Toscano Cheese soaked in Syrah, Kalamata Olives, dehydrated figs, Pita crackers, pinot Grigo infused salami, Il Forteto Honey, sparkling mineral water, cod fish on a bed of Arugula with a rustic Parisian nutty bread and can’t forget the green tea mints!

Wondering where I got the practical appetizer plate? Create & Barrel! I originally bought these for an appetizer party at my house. I would  find myself eating away and thinking “ahh shucks! Where did I leave my glass?” (Let alone “is this one mine?”) If you’ve experienced this, come to the rescue with appetizer plates from Create & Barrel. Trust me, they will be great conversation pieces.

Until a few years ago I had no idea that the male peacocks are the ones who got all the attention. They’re colorful, friendly, and darn gorgeous. You might see glimpses of sunlight, but the weather was a bit foggy, and my hats have been patiently waiting for me. I was having a bad hair day so I decided to wear this lovely 1920s hat mother bought me. hat: brand unknown, cardigan sweater: Nordstrom Curio,  sunnies:  House of Harlow and our essentjewels desert necklace.

Enjoying the Peacock show: Peacock showing interest in peahen by displaying himself.

Garden inspiration: Authentic Cacti arrangements.

The reason why Spring is my favorite season.

As always, Carolina! Xoxo
