DIY: Leopard Fur Collar

28 Feb

I sell our jewelry at local vintage events which means I am constantly finding little gems myself, like this genuine leopard fur collar and cashmere cardigan. I figured it would be a perfect DIY project. I used sew-on snaps to attach the collar to the cardigan.

And now I have a classic cashmere leopard fur collar cardigan. The best part is by adding sew-on snaps to the leopard collar it can be easily snapped off and snapped to other garments.

Essentials: sew-on snaps, needle, and string, all purchased at Joann Fabrics.

DIY: Valentine Treat

14 Feb

My husband loves cookies and ice cream. I often come home to him baking cookies and he getting ready to serve them with ice cream. Today I thought I would make them with a little love. Although I would love to say that I make everything from scratch, it is not always the case, however I did manage to buy Michigan made Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches: melting Moments.

Yes, even men are suckers for treats in cute packaging, at least my husband is.

I bought all the essentials at Micheals craft.

Hello beautiful!

I’ll bring you back to grade school today. I have an obsession with stationary, anything glittery full of color, whimsical, bright, and girly I should be embarrassed for someone my age. But as mentioned before, age is an attitude!. Growing up I had drawers and buckets full of Lisa Frank and hello kitty and I still can’t break away from that little kitty. I only have hints of it here and there, I have toned it down since I got married. I know you’ve seen this chevron mosaic all around from home decor to the office. Yes it’s a bit trendy but super adorable.  I went to a boutique in Santa Barbara and completely fell in love with this notebook perfect to tote around only I wasn’t going to pay what they were asking for it. I ended up going to paper source another playground for me. I bought this pretty paper and voilà! Take a peek!

Skull And A Spike

The beginning of my weekend was a bit sad, I bought risotto some time ago waiting for the perfect evening to cook it and I like to think I’m pretty good in the kitchen for an amateur chef. It’s been a while since I made a dish which took 3 hours and 18 minutes to make and to end it by not having the texture I’m accustomed to.  Although the flavor was a hit the texture was a miss. While in Italy I had an endless amount of risotto and I was eager to make it hoping it would whisk us back to our great Italian memories, but I was let down. Not so fast Mr. Risotto did you forget I enjoy a challenge! You better believe I’ll be back!

Now for the great part. I got some trinkets for my home office, narrowed down my color palate, designed new jewels and completed  few DIY little projects that I’ll be posting  one tomorrow.  Hint: think gold chevron pretty paper.

Now for the fashion part of this post. I’ve been wanting to wear this hat but since I live in L.A it would be kinda silly if I wore it on a sunny day although most hats are made for the sun, while in my case it was for a bad hair day and more importantly to keep my head and ears warm.  Then we had this amazing 65 degree weather finally!! I was able to wear Mr. Wool Hat…..  take a peek!
